Avenues for Funding OPSR Services

When seeking funds to cover the cost of our services, there are several sources to consider. Fees may of course be paid by individual participants or through organizational contracts. Additional sources include local, county, state, federal, and foundation grants, as well as sponsorships from businesses, corporations, and/or philanthropic associations.

Most school districts throughout the U.S. receive formula grant funds to support local Safe and Drug-Free School programs. In addition, school districts receive entitlement funds with provisions for professional development. Service provides that have an approved educational component as part of their service design may be elegible for some of the above funding (i.e., juvenile corrections).

In order to secure funding from your organization, it is important to connect the services you want to attain with your organization's mission and beliefs, current and planned initiatives, and presently identified needs.

The cost considerations involved in OPSR fee structures include preparation time, travel time and related expenses, the extent to which services must be customized for individual clients to meet defined needs, and the training materials involved with the particular service.
