Adult Inpatient Unit
The Adult Inpatient Unit (AIPU) is a unit within University Behavioral
HealthCare, the behavioral health component of the University
of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. As part of a comprehensive
mental health system, the mission of the AIPU is to provide excellent
psychiatric services to adults who require a more intensive level
of care than can be provided in the community. Treatment focuses
on keeping the inpatient stay short and restoring individuals
to their maximum level of functioning in their own home and community.
What is the Adult Inpatient Unit?
As part of a range of services, the Adult Inpatient Unit (AIPU)
is a sort-term residential service for those individuals requiring
a more intensive level of care than can be provided in the community.
