Adolescent Therapeutic Day School
The Adolescent Therapeutic Day School is a comprehensive
special education/partial hospitalization program, which
integrates psychiatric and special education services. The
program provides intensive psychiatric treatment to adolescents
(ages 14-21) who present with serious emotional disorders
and are in need of specialized educational services. The
program works intensively with the referred adolescents
and families to maintain them within the community while
promoting healthy growth and development.
All courses offer credit towards high school graduation.
The Education Program assists patients by focusing on personal
growth as well as academic needs. Meetings throughout the
school year are scheduled with districts' Child Study Teams
in order to provide updated information regarding progress
and to assist the family and school districts with appropriate
placement when the adolescent leaves the program.
Clinical Services
Comprehensive Clinical Services provide all students with
the emotional and behavioral support needed to address treatment
issues. The integration of clinical and education services
ensures that all factors interfering with an adolescent's
ability to have success in school and in the community are
addressed. Services include:
- Individual Psychotherapy
- Group Therapy
- Family Therapy
- Psychiatric Assessment and Treatment
- Medication Management
- Comprehensive Nursing Services
- Behavioral Feedback System
- Family Support Groups
Educational Services
The Adolescent Therapeutic Day School is an approved public
college operated special education facility, which is staffed
by certified special education teachers highly qualified
in their areas of expertise. Each student is assigned a
primary educator who assumes the role of special contact
person for both the student and the student's parents concerning
school matters. Periodic phone contacts, in addition to
parent/teacher meetings, are encouraged. Students and their
families receive Educational Progress Reports on a semi-monthly
schedule. Comprehensive Annual Review, Mid-Year, End-of-Year,
and Extended School Year Educational Reports are provided
to parents and Child Study Teams. A discharge recommendation
regarding the needs of each student is provided by the educational
