Adolescent Partial Hospital Program
SERVICE
The Adolescent Acute Day Treatment Program is a program for youth
needing structured psychiatric services. The program is available
Monday - Friday, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at our Piscataway
Campus. It serves youth ages 12 through 17 who are experiencing
moderate to severe emotional problems which negatively impact
the youth's ability to function at home, school, work or in the
community. Such emotional problems include depression, anxiety,
delusions, hallucinations, social withdrawal, aggressiveness,
mood swings, impulsiveness, and conduct disorder or obsessive-compulsive
behavior. Those who are returning to the community after hospitalization
or are at risk for hospitalization are our typical candidates
for admission. Services provided include pharmacological management
and review; individual, group and family therapy; psycho-educational
and recreational groups; therapeutic activities; and family support
and education. Stays are typically from one to two weeks.
