The KIDS COACH Program
The Kids Coach Program at the University of Medicine & Dentistry
of New Jersey, University Behavioral HealthCare (UBHC), funded
through the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant (JAIBG),
will provide life skills training for juveniles returning to the
community from the Middlesex County Youth Detention Center (YDC).
The KIDS COACH was created through a partnership between the
Middlesex County Family Court. The purpose of the program is to
assist youth in transition back to the community with support
and life skills training.
KIDS COACH teaches these adolescents additional skills to succeed
within Teams at school, in the community and in a wok setting.

A Juvenile Is Eligible If They
- Are referred from the Middlesex County Family Court Multi-Disciplinary
Team
- Between the ages of 13 and 17
- Resident of Middlesex County
- Parent or guardian consents to their child participation in
the program
Referral Process
The Family Court Multi-Disciplinary Team Middlesex County will
refer the client to program. The juvenile will then be asses through
a home-visit. If the juvenile comes to the program and the parents/guardian
consents to their childs participation, then youth will
participate in the program at North Brunswicks Hub Teen
Center on Morris Avenue in New Brunswick area. Updates on the
youths participation and progress will be reported to their
probation officer.
