Regional Response Unit

SERVICE

The Regional Response Unit (RRU) is an outreach component of the Children’s Crisis
Intervention Unit (CCIS) at UMDNJ/UBHC Acute Services. The program services Middlesex, Mercer, Somerset and Hunterdon counties. This mobile outreach mental health program services youths who are housed in Detention Centers, Shelters, designated group homes and residential facillities.

ADMISSION

Children and adolescents who are seriously emotionally disturbed and/or experiencing a mental health crisis can be referred for RRU services through a number of sources: designated staff at facilities, screening center staff and mental health professionals.
