The Access Center at University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) was established in 1995 to serve as a single entry point to support a statewide behavioral health services system. Now the access center is prepared to offer the same services in Spanish.

This state-of-the-art center currently receives about 1000 calls per day, from 16 different and unique phone lines. It used to use a language line to translate for monolingual Spanish callers. Now the center is offering Spanish speaking staff to be more culturally sensitive to the Latino community. The center represents a single point of access for our programs as well as collaborations with state agencies, crisis lines, specialty programs, peer support lines and other organizations. The Access Center is reaching out to the Latino community in New Jersey and is the entry point for Clínica Latina.
