are new to the series ("Assessing and Addressing Mental

and "Clinical Assessment of Children in Crisis"). The remaining
three courses ("HIPAA, Psychiatric Advance Directives and
Other Legal Aspects of the Screening Process", "Psychopharmacology

The September 2007 to May 2008 ICMS Core Competency
Training Series: This series is the culmination
of a collaborative effort that included researching case
management core competencies on a national level. In fiscal
year 2006, New Jersey stakeholders ranked the list of identified
competencies in order of importance. These stakeholders
included consumers, family members, ICMS, PACT, screening
centers, outpatient and partial hospital/care programs,
NJ-DMHS, and County MH Boards. The UBHC-Technical Assistance
Center (TAC), with the continued collaborative efforts of
a group of these stakeholders, developed this training series
to foster and enhance the identified competencies specifically
for ICMS case managers. Attendees to the trainings will
receive a General Attendance Certificate for each training
completed as well as a Certificate of Completion for case
managers who complete the entire series. ICMS
