- Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Training in Geropsychology
- Allied Health Professionals Training
In addition to providing much-needed clinical services, the Geriatric
Services programs of University Behavioral HealthCare provide
extensive Education and Training in geriatrics and gerontology
for medical students, residents, and Fellows; nursing students;
physicians assistant students; psychology interns; social
work externs; and allied health care professionals. UBHCs
COPSA Institute sponsors a wide variety of educational and training
activities, conducted in collaboration with UMDNJ - Robert Wood
Johnson Medical School (RWJMS), Rutgers University, and area hospitals/health
care facilities. UBHC serves as the primary clinical training
site for the Department of Psychiatrys American Psychological
Association-approved Psychology Internship Program (which incorporates
a geropsychology training component). In addition, UBHC sponsors
a Postdoctoral Training Program in Geropsychology which provides
specialized training in geriatrics and gerontology for PhD and
PsyD clinical psychologists. Overall, the Education and Training
activities of UBHCs Geriatric Services programs are designed
to ensure that tomorrows professionals in geriatrics and
gerontology continue to provide the high level of care and assistance
to older adults that has been the hallmark of University Behavioral
HealthCare since its inception.
